This year’s Rotary International theme is “Imagine Rotary,” and here I am. That theme was chosen by Jennifer Jones who is, believe it or not, the very first woman president of Rotary International. Like every Rotary President before me, I am honored to hold this role, but especially during this historic year.

International President Jennifer’s statement of vision and goals for Rotary International begins as follows: “In order to live in the kind of society you want, you have to help build it.” This year, Pasadena Rotary’s motto is “Building Community Through Service,” and that is exactly what we do! We are performing some exciting service such as delivering meals each week to Union Station, painting Ronald McDonald House, buying Christmas gifts for families at the Salvation Army and reading to elementary school children during Read Across America.  Don’t forget the socializing though at our monthly mixers and weekly lunches with great speakers.

So invite your friends and colleagues to our meetings and let’s build our community by bringing in some fabulous new members.   We can get even better by growing larger.  It’s the club to be at!
